In response to growing concern over COVID-19, and in solidarity with
our global community, the VANL board of directors has decided to forgo
the EVA awards this year.
While we are disappointed that we are not able to present the annual awards ceremony this May as planned, VANL is confident that this was the responsible decision.
Instead, we will be working on ways to highlight and honour excellence in visual arts through distance. As the situation develops, we will continue to keep collaborative conversations going between VANL and the community to ensure we are doing everything we can to support artists of Newfoundland and Labrador during these uncertain times.
Our focus remains on the health and safety of our community. While technology will help us stay connected with one another, we are asking everyone to stay at home whenever possible. Although we are apart in physical space, we are all in this together.
If you have any questions or concerns, please email email@example.com.
In light of recent Federal and Provincial Government’s public health directives concerning the COVID-19 pandemic, please be advised that the VANL-CARFAC offices are closed effective immediately. Our staff will be working from home but we are still available via email and will be monitoring our telephone messages regularly. We do ask for your patience if there are some slight delays in response time as we adjust to this situation.
We know there will be additional questions regarding the impact this will have on the Excellence in Visual Arts Award and other programs and services, as well as the status of our office closure, and we will share more information here as soon as it’s available. If you do not already, we encourage you to follow us on our social media channels on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
